Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's past combines the benefits of football family scholarship and volunteerism in the community. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children of Lucious and Jessie Selmon. They grew up on the farm of Eufala, Oklahoma. In second football, he was the third brother who were players for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in national by Outland Lombardi, the Outland Awards. During his three seasons as Oklahoma's starter they went 33-1-1, and picked up two championships. In 1975, he was awarded his third scholarship and was recognized as an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon obtained his degree in education. Lee Roy spent ten hours a week on volunteer work during college. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. He also began a career in the field of business. In 1988, he worked as an Account Relation Manager for First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed with the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and also the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of America's most outstanding young males. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 pounds at the time he played in college. He led the 1975 team. He was named assistant director of Athletics for the University of South Florida, in 1993. It was the College Football Hall of Fame honored him in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
